The 2021 International Display Technology Conference was held in Beijing.
The 2021 International Conference on Display Technology (ICDT 2021), hosted by the Society for Information Display (SID), was grandly opened on May 31, 2021, at the Yichuang International Convention & Exhibition Center in Beijing. The conference attracted more than 1,000 participants. Leading entrepreneurs and academics from around the globe gathered together to engage in in-depth discussions on advancements in information display technology and industry development.

The opening ceremony of the conference was chaired by Dr. Liu Weidong, Chairman of the SID Beijing Chapter and Chief Scientist at Hisense Visual Technology. Professor Peng Junbiao from South China University of Technology, Chairman of the ICDT 2021 Conference, Regional Chairman of SID for the Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Mainland China regions, and a representative of the conference organizers, delivered a speech. Professor Peng Junbiao noted that ICDT is entering its fifth year, and China’s display industry has been developing at an exceptionally rapid pace, with display technologies blossoming across the board. This year’s ICDT has seen new developments and advancements compared to previous years—for instance, it has hosted the technical seminar on the “New Display and Strategic Electronic Materials” key special project under the 14th Five-Year Plan National Key R&D Program, the Seminar on Future Technological Development in the Display Industry, the Automotive Display and Smart Lighting Forum, the Interactive Rich-Media Technology and Industry Forum, as well as the Workshop on Key Technology Roadmaps for MicroLED and Laser Display. The remarkable progress of China’s display technology is evident, with outstanding performances across all segments of the industrial chain.
Dr. Gao Wenbao, Chairman of the Organizing Committee for ICDT 2021, Executive Vice President of BOE, and CEO of the Display Business, delivered a speech on behalf of the conference organizer. Gao Wenbao stated that today, driven by next-generation information technologies such as 5G, artificial intelligence, and big data, the wave of the Fourth Industrial Revolution is rapidly sweeping across all industries.
