The International Forum on Carbon Neutrality Held; Shaanxi Drum’s Smart Green Solutions Attract Attention
To further implement the nation’s major strategies of peaking carbon emissions and achieving carbon neutrality, on May 12, coinciding with the 5th Silk Road International Expo and the China East-West Cooperation and Investment & Trade Fair, the Carbon Neutrality (Xi’an) International Forum—jointly hosted by the Shaanxi Provincial People’s Government, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, the Asian Development Bank, and other organizations—was held concurrently. The forum brought together hundreds of participants, including academicians, experts and scholars from relevant national ministries and commissions, universities, enterprises, and financial institutions, as well as business leaders, institutional representatives, and foreign diplomats accredited to China.
As one of the co-organizers of the forum, Liu Jinping, General Manager of Shaanxi Blower (Group) Co., Ltd., was invited to participate in the roundtable forum. Focusing on the forum’s theme—“Integrating and Developing Two Chains Toward Carbon Neutrality”—Liu joined forces with Ma Jingfeng, Executive Director of the National-Local Joint Engineering Center for Carbon Dioxide Capture and Storage Technology; Zhang Yingke, Chief Technical Expert of the Changqing Oilfield Branch of China National Petroleum Corporation; Wang Xiangzeng, Deputy General Manager and Chief Geologist of Shaanxi Yanchang Petroleum (Group) Co., Ltd.; Li Laixin, Party Secretary and Executive Director of Shaanxi Coal Industry & Chemical Group Coalbed Methane Development and Utilization Co., Ltd.; Zheng Kaixue, General Manager of Hualu Engineering Technology Co., Ltd.; Cao Yang, Vice President and China President of Baker Hughes Group; and Hu Yuhua, Chairman of the West China Region of Tisheng Davis, along with other industry scholars and business representatives, to explore and exchange ideas on the integrated development of the “carbon neutrality innovation chain and the carbon neutrality industrial chain.”
It is reported that the “two chains” refer to the “carbon neutrality” innovation chain and the “carbon neutrality” industrial chain. These chains aim to explore strategies and pathways for China to proactively address climate change, achieve peak carbon emissions, and attain carbon neutrality under the current circumstances. They also seek to discuss countermeasures for green and low-carbon development, promote the construction of open and shared technological innovation platforms and industrial clusters for carbon neutrality, establish a platform for carbon neutrality and technology exchange and mutual learning among countries and regions along the Silk Road, and contribute wisdom to building a community with a shared future for mankind.
